Our vision
To make Thai law something every client can understand and plan around — whether a Thai company, a foreign investor or an individual.
Who we work for
Thai companies
Retained counsel, contracts, the company's registry work and licences, the papers for its foreign staff, and representation when a dispute arises.
Foreign companies and investors
We handle business registration, licensing, visas and work permits for foreign investors and companies establishing themselves in Thailand.
Individuals
Individuals who need legal planning or are facing a dispute.
How we work
The rules that hold for every matter, and the ways the work differs by its kind.
In every matter
- 01
The obstacle first
Before quoting we say where the matter is actually going to stick, and whether there is a cheaper or faster way through. If the answer is that nothing needs doing, that is the answer you get.
- 02
A price said in advance
The professional fee, the government fees and the translation costs are set out separately in the quotation. Nothing appears halfway through.
- 03
Kept informed
You know at every point which stage the matter is at and who is handling it.
Conflict checks
Before we take a matter on, and before we advise on its substance, we check that the firm does not act for the other side in the same or a related matter. That is why we ask for the names of all the parties at first contact. If there is a conflict, we tell you that we cannot take the matter on, without disclosing anything about anyone else. What you tell us for the check is kept confidential.
By the kind of work
Everything that has to be in place before a business may lawfully open, bringing its people in to work, and the work that continues for as long as the company exists.
- 01
The right order of work
Formation, licensing, visas and work permits sit in a fixed order. Taken out of order they have to be filed twice. We set the whole sequence out at the start.
- 02
The route that is actually open
Before applying, we check which law the business falls under and which route to permission is genuinely open to it: a foreign business licence, BOI promotion or a treaty route.
- 03
Handed over with the renewal dates
Originals handed over with a note of what has been obtained, what has to be renewed, and when.
Court and arbitration work for claimants and respondents alike, through to tracing assets and enforcing the judgment, so that it turns into money.
- 01
The case assessed first
Before a claim is filed or a defence lodged, we read the documents and the evidence there is, and set out the strengths, the weaknesses, the likely time and the costs to budget for.
- 02
Routes short of court
Where a letter of demand or a negotiation might settle the matter without a claim, we put that route to you as well.
- 03
Suing and enforcing are separate stages
Taking a claim to judgment and enforcing that judgment are separate stages. You can instruct us for the claim alone, or for enforcement as well, as agreed. Enforcement begins once the court has issued a writ of execution, and covers asset tracing, seizure and attachment.
- 04
Kept informed
After each hearing you are told what happened and what comes next.
